How It Works

Step 1 – Enroll Online

Sign up for the Online Texas License to Carry Class at MyLTCTexas.com from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Step 2 – Complete the Online Course

Go through the state-required topics including Texas gun laws, use of force, handgun safety, non-violent dispute resolution, and more.

Step 3 – Pass the Written Test Online

Complete the course exam online to receive your LTC-104 certificate.

Step 4 – Complete Your Shooting Qualification Locally

Schedule your range qualification with a Texas LTC instructor near you. This portion is completed separately with the instructor, and their fees may vary.

Step 5 – Get Fingerprinted

Schedule and complete your required fingerprints through the approved Texas DPS fingerprinting process.

Step 6 – Apply With Texas DPS

Submit your application, fingerprints, LTC-104 certificate, and required documents to Texas DPS.

Step 7 – Get Your LTC

Once approved, receive your Texas License to Carry and carry with confidence.
